Amy’s latest collection, Renaissance, is a curated ensemble of eight exclusive works that explore the timeless themes, ethereal light, and heavenly palettes of Italian Renaissance masterpieces.
Through Amy’s intuitive expression, these stylistic themes undergo a contemporary rebirth in an abstract form, inviting each observer on a unique journey through the swirling currents of their own imagination. This collection marks a significant point in the artist’s career as she adopts a more classic approach with fewer materials, allowing the paint to sing for itself through every brush mark and every fibre of the canvas. Renaissance serves as both an homage to the past and a jubilant celebration of contemporary abstraction.
Drawing inspiration from Renaissance Masters such as Michelangelo and Titian, and the ethereal energy and tones visible in masterpieces such as the Sistine Chapel, Amy tries to evoke the power of the figurative, with just abstract forms. She designed the pieces to feel as though they are radiating light from within and aims to elicit a powerful sense of introspection, energy and inspiration within each observer.
